Borat of Karabakh?
The Christian Science Monitor has an article about Artsakh (The Republic of Nagorno Karabakh) with its Prime Minister Anoushavan Danielyan depicted with Armenia’s flag (the actual Artsakh flag is slightly different) in a Borat-fashioned cartoon.

The Armenian Genocide at one point was putative (supposed) in the minds of many writers as well. Now, many people and nations have come to recognize it.
The “Duhkhmarr” Itano’s poorly written article should have been posted in the OPINION section, because it’s full of her personal perceptions.
How can she conduct comparisons between the past & the present when she does not have a clue about how things were in the past? — she’s probably a new writer that had not extensively traveled in that region. That’s evident from the first paragraph. It’s not fair for her to compare a new nation that had been under the soviet rule, to the standards in the US. She should have compared ARTSAKH to the beginnings of the United States, or, even KOSOVO — that’s why I am optimistic that nations will rally behind NG.
Her writings are almost comedic, for example: ” The region grows wheat, grapes, potatoes, and garbanzo beans, yet must import 55 to 60 percent of its food” as if to say that since they grow these 4 items, then, how come they import so much more food..lol “dantzee koolookh eh ayss aaghtcheeguh :-)”
Since it is one of the few, UNSPOILED, beautiful, mountainous places (that has not yet been ruined by tourists). I recommend you to visit it — regardless if your Armenian or not–. Driving on the “LONE” road to Stepanagerd is one of the most scenic, mountain-top rides. Plus, the people are genuine, welcoming, warm and respectful.
Ms. Itano missed a great opportunity to do comparable feature between why the world justifies backing Kosovo (which cut out a chunk out of Serbia) and Artsakh (Negorno-Karabakh). I doubt if her conclusion is the same as mine…..: OIL — the source of most worldly conflicts.
