America wants to “gloss over” the word Genocide when used with Turkey, instead “ottoman empire” is used. So does that mean that the Nazi’s were responsible for the Jewish holocaust or was it Germany or the Third Reich?
Maybe the USA can say it was the “Union” that was responsible for slavery, lynching blacks and persecuting the Native Americans?
They can gloss over all they want, but the genocide is very well documented with treaties, eye witness accounts by survivors AND more importantly the AMBASSADOR to Turkey, Henry Morgenthau who wrote many books on the atrocities.
Something that this newly appointed Ambassador had no knowledge of.
You mean there was a book written about the Armenian Genocide by an American Ambassador????

There was something I read recently and posted on Khosq.com (http://tinyurl.com/5lmdsd) that to me sounded like an intriguing development. Instead of directly blaming Turkey, the United States has slightly recharacterized the issue as the “Ottoman Empire.” I wonder if both Turkey and Armenia could possibly agree on blaming a now non-existent political entity with genocide. Armenians get the official recognition while Turkey could place the blame in the past rather than its current State. Any thoughts?
