I believe this stems from the fact that Armenians believe that they are as they call it a very "parkesht" nation. It would be wrong for us, of course, to talk about out faults because after all we are Armenian and we don't do such things. Armenians, rather than helping those who are in trouble and have been trafficked, look down on them and call them God knows what sort of names. This said, I can also add that not all women are willingly trafficked to Turkey, Dubai, Azerbaijan, or various other European and North American nations. Many knowingly move but later find out that it wasn't as easy as they thought and plead to move back to Armenia, and some even enjoy their line of work and continue working. The Armenian government will never admit human trafficking because the traffickers, who I may add are our fellow Armenians, pay the prosecutors, government officials and various other individuals to keep them quiet. Also, this is a lucrative business for Armenia and brings back a lot of money thus trafficking benefits the Armenian economy. I am sorry for writing such a long comment, I think if I continue I won't stop. One day we will sit down and discuss this topic in more detail:)
