He also has songs written for the ultra-nationalist and Islamist causes. I wouldn't say he is quite "normal", even in the standards of Turkey. I do hope the IHD complaint will bring some results, both against him, and the actual writer of the "poem." It is hard to tell just how common things like this are in parts of Turkey, considering only a fraction of such incidences would be considered newsworthy and fewer still would make it to an English language version.
